Well once I started to hear the line up for Capitals 'Jingle Bell Ball' for the O2 ticket hungry fiend that I am, I made a very poor error of judgment I must admit! But hear me out, when they first starting releasing the artists on the bill and they were bragging about the Sugababes (not a huge fan) but I have seen them at Hammersmith and a few years later at the Royal Albert Hall, both times they were great. THEN when they came to the O2 on New Year's Eve...er hello, what went wrong? I had work colleagues & friends coming up to me afterwards saying things like “please tell me they sounded better live than they did on TV”. No afraid not, they really did sound that bad, trust me there was no TV trickery involved. BUT Take That were fab and that’s who everyone was really there to see! Running on those treadmills n all, now how cool was that for a bunch of old fellas.
Anyway back to the 'Xmas Tree Ball Ball' as I kept calling it, so they started to beef the line up with a bit of Boyzone yeah and? Pussycat Dolls, eye candy but hardly killer tunes...The Script now we are heading in the right direction. Lemar, Fame Academy (where's that show now and how many talented artists has it produced) oh I know just Lemar and he didn't even win it, says it all. The Saturdays, got some catchy little songs, then an absolute show stopper: Will Young; bore off. I really thought fine I could live without this. Then every minute of every day on the radio, as a hardened Capital listener...they just wore me down. Panic set in so I immediately text a friend, surely they would have some spare tickets they wouldn't mind pushing in my general direction...even if it meant missing out on moonlighting as a ticket tout via the secondary market picking up 'slow on the uptake' plonkers like me?! I'm sure I will be in a position to repay them in some way some other day.
Excellent job done, I’m safe to carry on listening without living in fear of not going to the must see event of the year! So the line up started to get interesting, Scouting For Girls, Alphabeat etc! Exciting, it was fun listening waiting for the announcements. A few that I wasn't so worried about Craig David, Anastacia, Enrique Iglesias, surely they are from days gone past? Gabriella Cilmi, who, ok so she has one hit and does the song on an advert, soooo! Oh and not forgetting the Jame's... Morrison/Blunt nice, but is nice boring? Finally the major star that she is Riiiiiiiiiihanna! How that voice over in combination with that chilling music puts the fear of god in to you. You find yourself holding your breath before remembering with a sigh of relief that you're actually going it's all ok to breath out...then as smug as I am I start looking round in the traffic to see if anyone is passing out as they listen cause they haven't got tickets to go, ha ha ha.
So we get there, very front of the lower tier right at the back of the arena, what a pukka little view. Finally made my mind up that if you are going to the O2 no matter what (and I've sat in a variety of positions now) the basic golden rule is 'ANY' seat in the lower tier is better than 'ANY' seat in the upper tier. To clarify, even if that upper tier seat is in ROW A in a block right next to the stage, understood, good now that’s off my chest we can move on.
Sugababes were back to their good selves and reinstated my faith after NYE. The Script, Danny O'Donaghue how fit is he. They were excellent, I'm sure he said their equipment was held or lost or something at the airport, that clearly hadn’t affected them. Lemar, really good too. Scouting For Girls, knew they would be good seen them on TV a few times recently, although he didn't go too mad build it all up, then run round like a nutter (I like that bit most) Gabriella KillMe, sorry Cilmi is it. Awful and I wasn't the only one, the arena virtually emptied while she was on, it was so embarrassing. Pussycat Dolls clearly over their disappointment of The Saturdays getting their dressing room and put in a polished performance. James Morrison's Broken Strings was great with Keisha chipping in on the vocals (what a stroke of luck that was) I imagine he probably didn't know who to choose and spun a bottle or something (yeah right) phew luckily it landed on her ;-) Alphabeat, up beat, superb. Mr or so serious Will Old, I mean Young, Boyzone then Craig David...now what a surprise he was. Wasn't expecting a lot but he was really really good. Anastacia, kind of wondered what she was doing there, wasn't she performing at party in the park (so 4years ago) but hey can that woman rock or what, she was great. By far and away the best performer of the night, can't believe I am saying this BUT Enrique Iglesias. He was amazing, suppose I didn't really know what to expect from him but he really works the crowd well, just brilliant. The most gripping thing I've ever seen on stage was his rendition of Hero. Well words couldn't do it justice, everyone was fixated, it makes the hairs on my arms stand up now watching it back, intense. James blunt, bla bla bla and now I was really looking forward to seeing the Saturdays, I give them youngsters the benefit of the doubt. Lets just say there must of been a technical hitch and none of those ear piece things were working. The grand finale, Rihanna. OK she's a top star and did a fantastic set (maybe 5 songs compared to everyone else’s 2 or 3) but I had seen her in concert recently so the magic of the anticipation was lost on me. That said, I love her, her music, her boyfriend, her style, her her her and her.

Lookalikey's
I need to get this off my chest...is it me but every time I see Viduka playing football I am just always thinking he well looks like David Walliams...or maybe it's just me and I am obsessed?!

Another one that really got to me, but this time it seems at least I'm not the only one! A quick google and YES it is hard to believe Jo brand and John Sergeant are NOT related, like hello don't worry about looking alike, have you heard them speak!!!

No Man's Land
I just had to see David Walliams West End debut...I didn't care what the play was about. A few questions where/why/whats it about etc etc etc (the usual from D) however she soon started to take a more serious interest after nearly choking on the price of the tickets, LOL
We were more or less the youngest people there (well I was) I heard people chatting on about seeing it originally back in 1975 (yes, before I was born)
A few jokes went over our head since the punchline seemed to include some obscure long word (we obviously didn't understand the meaning of) as we were the only ones not laughing :-(
So apparently the play is about precisely what its title suggests, the sense of being caught in some mysterious limbo between life and death.
Harold Pinter himself admitted that No Man's Land is a "haunting weird play" that he "can never fully understand – Who can? – but it works on you"
So basically, Hirst a litterateur haunted by dreams and memories, is, as he tells Spooner, 'in the last lap of a race I had long forgotten to run'. But, while his servants (Foster & Briggs) conspire to lead Hirst to oblivion, Spooner attempts a chivalric rescue-act, dragging him towards the light of the living. The assumption is that his bid fails, as all four characters are finally marooned in a no-man's land 'which remains forever, icy and silent'."
Many critics are still asking: "Yes, but what does it all mean?" and after three decades many feel that they don't fully understands it ... GOOD so we wasn't the only ones then! I thought I had missed something, or just didn't fully 'get it' (so got straight on to wikipedia to suss things out) but seems that is the desired effect and exactly how you're suppose to feel :-)
Oh yeah and it goes without saying, I am pleased I have seen this play and my Mr Walliams was just grrrrrreat.

Stansted...
So a trip to the airport to officially pack off the 14th member of my family on holiday until the end of the month :-(
NOT THAT I'M BITTER, I'm sure Junior's worth it!
Talking of the little man, his 29th pair of trainers arrived today, rainbow coloured dunks (they are well smart) maybe a new favourite :-)

Whos stupid idea was it to go out on a school night?!
LOL, looking at my last post it seems the only thing that gets me on to my blog is my drunken exploits :-(
For a TUESDAY night (bizarre) so many people out partying, do they not have jobs to go to the next day...or does no one suffer hangovers? I certainly couldn't cope with going out on a school night very often!
...and my poor driver (ha ha) I got her a seat, what more could an 8mth pregnant woman want?! Apparently she was up six times in the night going to the toilet (so she tells me) as if I noticed after that many after shocks (and the first one was a bloody shock) I need to get out more, obviously.
Lolly got her random call at midnight, well 'cherry chopstick' I think sounds much more amusing than 'cherry chapstick' anyway. I needed it clarified there and then, I knew she'd know.
I'm sure I was still out of it first thing this morning, thought a McDonald's breakfast on my way in would do the trick, but things were made a whole lot worse by my vegetarian colleague's inspection and commentary on what I was eating! Enough to turn anyone over to bat for their team.
Oh well nothing a morning walk along the river couldn't fix then a visit from Gem! We popped down to asda where she put away two muffins while I cautiously sipped on a sprite.
I have spent the whole morning on a different planet, but since afternoon arrived I have slowly started to function :-)
Until the next time, ciao x

Kels 30th
... so Kels birthday celebrations carry on this weekend we had a poker night, for money!
Well I was drunk and needless to say came out a loser :-( But what I can't explain (other than the amateur taking all the winnings) is two very sore grazes on each elbow...this was 'indoor poker' for gods sake and I certainly never fell over anywhere? Well at least I don't think the little trip over the washing on my way to the toilet did that much damage, surely not?
Big news of the night: not only is Kel getting Benji but little bro Harvey's coming too, yipppeee so Freddie & Mika will have two new playmates and I better be on best behaviour for the welcome home party.

... and finally the hunt is on
Went to see the rescheduled show last night, it was quite good actually.
Catherine Tate is just so funny, what is it about her? I find my whole face and spirit lifted as soon as I see her and that's before she opens her mouth... then you're in hysterics! We were discussing whether we would have found her scene so hilarious if it wasn't her doing it? Debatable, weird, I’m just really not sure?!
One thing I am quite sure of and I hate to admit what a cynic I am, but total publicity stunt that whole nude/injury debacle! I can understand why ... I mean it got enough coverage (everyone was talking about it) soooo extra bums on seats n all that.
Another moment of hysterics (later in the play, during a very tense scene on stage) this time came from the crowd when Junior had an almighty rumble beside us and us being the 'proper little juveniles that we are' could be found snorting and giggling uncontrollably wiping our tear drenched eyes a few rows from the front. At one point I felt like the only way out of this fit was for one of us to leave but our rowdiness eventually pulled through the silence and recovered to witness the pinnacle kiss as the scene was closing.
After the show we had manic last minute errands to run (birthday sign post fixing) and didn't get in till 1am, this was all going fine and dandy until D put Junior in the bush trying to fix one of the treasure hunt clues to a 'keep britain tidy' sign in McDonalds car park, LOL
Oh well finally Kelly has been united with Benji and we can all take a huge sigh of relief!

What a disappointment, got right to the door and see notice to say CANCELLED due to accident in rehearsals! Boo Hoo.

Under the Blue Sky
...so for my birthday I'm off to see Catherine Tate in a west end show!
I was excited until my cousin asked me whether I was doing anything tonight :-(
So I told him where I was going... he text me back 'don't she nude in that' ...does she I said, LOL (hopefully for comedy value I text back)
No apparently not he says... where else but page18 of The Sun today they describe it as a 'graphic sex romp' grrrrreat.
Apparently, she plays a horny maths teacher, what a relief at least I won't be thinking nanny taylor :-)

Day before my birthday
... well hello, and welcome to my blog :-)
Felt extremely tired on arrival to work first thing this morning but seem to have woken up now! How am I going to cope with the sleep deprivation that comes with having a baby I ask myself?!
Also, i'm in a nice jovial mood since a pair of shorts I got for xmas have finally been exchanged in to a size that may fit me :-( well the original pair fitted me, but I mean hang off me like they are about to drop down to my knees at any given moment.
Hopefully off to ikea tonight to get a new 'bigger' bookcase ... all in aid of nesting.
